What is the difference between replication and duplication?

Whether it’s a CD or DVD, duplication and replication are the two ways to copy your disc.  CD/DVD replication is the process by which disc copies are pressed from a glass master.  This process is ideal for large orders, typically exceeding 500 copies.  However, a longer lead-time is usually necessary.  CD/DVD duplication is the process by which the information from your CD or DVD master is burned onto a CD-R or DVD-R.  This process requires a shorter lead-time and is best suited for orders of less than 500 copies.
